Many a time during my international career I have returned from Murrayfield with my head bowed but Saturday's 21-9 defeat to Scotland was very disappointing.
Wales were uncompetitive and had Scotland taken greater advantage of their superiority - at one point they had 80 per cent of the possession - Wales would have suffered a heavier defeat.
Stephen Jones men were out-muscled and played without purpose, they seemed to have no idea of what they were trying to achieve.
The squad and management need to discuss their tactics ahead of the France game because the players looked uncertain on the pitch.
Why they werent at their best I do not know but theres a huge question mark after that performance in Murrayfield. International rugby is demanding but there was a huge discrepancy between the two sides and that needs to be addressed.
Wales will hopefully welcome back Shane Williams and Tom Shanklin against France because the backline was lacklustre in Scotland, while Ian Gough should return at lock to give the pack a bit of bite.
It would be an added bonus if Gavin Henson were to rediscover his form with the Ospreys because he is a talented player, but he needs to regain his appetite for rugby if he is to make the squad.
France were superb in the first 20 minutes against Ireland and their forwards looked very dynamic, even without captain Fabien Pelous. Wales need to improve vastly if they are to avoid a third successive Championship defeat.
