Magnus Lund has been inspired by England's returning World Cup heroes for the RBS 6 Nations campaign.
Saturdays impressive 42-20 Calcutta Cup victory over Scotland was largely due to the efforts of 2003 World Cup winners Jonny Wilkinson, Jason Robinson, Mike Tindall and Phil Vickery.
And Sale Sharks flanker Lund, who is among Englands new kids on the block at the start of another World Cup year, has relished being around such revered figures.
He said: It is great to have guys who have got the experience around, with however many World Cup winners back in the squad.
And its great if you mix that with the young guys coming through like Toby Flood, Mathew Tait, Tom Rees and myself.
Hopefully we can keep pushing the old boys around a bit, and they will inspire us to work a bit harder.
There is a good mix in the squad and everyone is happy.
Starting against Scotland last week was great for me and I just want to build on it and hopefully become established like the older guys are.
But trying to establish myself has got to come off my own back. Only I can prove to [head coach] Brian Ashton and the other coaches that I should be here and I should be playing.
Lund, the 23-year-old son of a former Norway basketball international, has settled promisingly into Englands number seven shirt after making his Test debut on tour in Australia last summer.
Although the disappointing autumn international series earlier this season - when England lost to Argentina, South Africa and New Zealand - saw his contribution restricted to just a couple of substitute appearances, he has now started to make considerable strides.
Lund added: I felt, after returning home from the summer tour, I just had to keep doing my own thing.
I had quite a short pre-season after going on the Australia trip, and I didnt start the season as well as I would have liked, but things seemed to pick up from there.
At 6ft 3in, Lund offers England an additional lineout threat alongside locks Louis Deacon and Danny Grewcock, plus number eight Martin Corry.
