With the February 3 date at Twickenham looming, Hadden has seen several players who were once considered non-starters come back into contention.

While Haddens preferred captain Jason White will miss the entire RBS 6 Nations campaign, and Mike Blair is unlikely to feature until the third match, against Italy, at the earliest, the news elsewhere is encouraging.

Were delighted with the progress that Simon Webster, Chris Cusiter and Alli Hogg have made, and the amount of involvement they have had this week, said Hadden.

But we still have to cross some ts and dot some is before they become available for selection.

Theres a bit to go before they get to that stage  but if they are considered to be fit enough to turn out for their respective clubs this weekend, and are selected to play, then that would be a bonus. However that is out with my control.

It is also hoped that France-based lock Nathan Hines will be available for selection sooner rather than later, after breaking a bone in his foot while playing for Perpignan in the French league last month.

Whatever team he fields, Hadden is confident his teams ability to claim a first victory on English soil since 1983 will not be too severely compromised.

He believes his squad have developed a degree of strength in depth which should stand Scotland in good stead as they try to build on last seasons achievement of three championship wins  over France, England and Italy  during the forthcoming campaign.

Ive already told the players that, despite the number of injuries weve currently got in the squad, everybody who was out on the training pitch this afternoon is, in my opinion, capable of playing international rugby, he said.

Now thats not always been the case when the Scotland squads have got together, and I couldnt be happier with the pressure being put on players in the side by players who want to be in the side.

That is going to be a tremendous strength in this championship.

Hadden already has a good idea of the team he wants to play against England, but stressed that the starting XV would not be finalised until the beginning of next week.
