Veteran scrum-half Alessandro Troncon is the surprise inclusion in the Italy squad for their opening RBS 6 Nations match against France on February 3.
Troncon made his Azzurri debut in 1994 and has gone on to represent his country on 85 occasions.
The Clermont-Auvergne veteran made his last appearance for Italy in March 2005.
