New sponsors for Scottish rugby

Scottish Rugby have struck a new six-figure title sponsorship deal for the domestic game.

For three years beginning next season, the Premiership, National Leagues and National Cup will be sponsored by Scottish Hydro Electric.

The company will also sponsor this seasons Super Cup, which begins on Saturday.

Scottish Rugby chief executive Gordon McKie said: This is an important day for Scottish Rugby and club and grassroots rugby in particular.

Starting as soon as this Saturdays 2007 Super Cup, this new sponsorship will bring immediate benefit to club rugby and wider grassroots rugby activities, with the major impact coming with the new season in September.
