Williams awaits fate

Wales flanker Martyn Williams could miss the start of the RBS 6 Nations if he is suspended by the Welsh Rugby Union after being sent off for Cardiff against the Ospreys.

The Lions flanker was red-carded for a head-butt on Jason Spice in Cardiff Blues' 30-24 league win last week and could face a six-week ban.

He has apologised for the offence and the club say he was suspended for Wednesday's 14-13 loss at the Dragons although Cardiff team-mate Gary Powell received a four-week suspension for a similar offence earlier this season.

Wales open their campaign against Ireland on February 4.
