Martyn Williams insisted he is relishing his first head-to-head clash with Richie McCaw in Wales' long-awaited showdown with New Zealand at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday.
Although Williams has been capped 64 times and went on the 2005 Lions tour of New Zealand he has never played against the All Blacks captain.
And the Cardiff Blues flanker is looking forward to the battle of two of the best opensides in world rugby.
Richie McCaw is without a shadow of a doubt the best about, and probably has been since Michael Jones if you ask me, said 31-year-old Williams.
A lot of credit is given to the All Blacks back row but I think their front five is immense and sets the platform for them.
Id love to play against him because I have never come up against him before.
There is no weakness in his game at all. He has got size, he has got speed and he has got footballing ability. He has got everything.
And to top it off he is intelligent player as well. When you play number seven thats half the battle.
I think we all take things from McCaws game. I watched a lot of the Tri-Nations series and I have learned a lot of him over the last couple of years.
Its a credit to him that every number seven now gets compared to Richie McCaw.
Both players have been named in their sides respective line-ups but Williams has installed Wales as major underdogs.
Obviously New Zealand are massive favourites. They have been outstanding over the last couple of years, he assessed.
We havent lost yet in the autumn series, we are at home, its their last game of the year so hopefully they will be thinking about the beach or something else.
You never know. If we play to our full potential Im sure we will give them a good game.
The three results they have had so far on tour (victory over England and back-to-back wins against France) means there is no pressure on us. So we can concentrate on our own game and, as I say, if we play to our potential Im sure we will give them a few frights.
