Scotland back-row forward Allister Hogg will be assessed by an orthopaedic surgeon as a knee injury threatens to keep him out of the autumn Test series at Murrayfield.
The Edinburgh player suffered the injury during the Magners League defeat by Cardiff Blues at Murrayfield on Friday, on his return from an elbow problem.
Scotland team doctor James Robson said: First impressions are that he has damaged his medial ligament.
He will be further assessed when he sees the surgeon tomorrow.
Winger Chris Paterson also took a knock in that Magners League match.
Robson said: Chris has made good progress over the weekend following an injury to his ankle sustained early in the second half.
He will continue to have treatment today and will be further assessed tomorrow (Tuesday).
Scrum-half Mike Blair continues to receive treatment for the knee injury he suffered playing for Edinburgh against Leinster.
He will not train today but is making good progress, Dr Robson said.
Hooker Dougie Hall has recovered from a hip injury and three players have been added to the training squad ahead of the clash with Romania on Saturday.
Scrum-half Graeme Beveridge and openside flanker John Barclay, both of Glasgow Warriors, and Border Reivers wing Simon Danielli were called up.
The Scots also face Pacific Islanders and Australia in the autumn Test series this month.
