Scotland winger Sean Lamont has signed a contract extension which commits him to Northampton until 2009.
Lamont, 25, originally moved to Franklins Gardens from Glasgow last summer and scored seven tries during his debut season.
He also enjoyed a memorable RBS 6 Nations campaign with Scotland, scoring twice in the win against France at Murrayfield.
Northampton head coach Paul Grayson welcomed Lamont's decision to sign a two-year extension to his contract.
He said: Monty was a vital part of the side last season and did really well for us, working tirelessly without perhaps scoring as many tries as he would have liked.
We are delighted that he will be staying with us at Franklins Gardens as I believe there is much more to come from him.
