Rest and recuperation is one of the main issues new boss Gareth Jenkins must address as he finalises the Wales squad for this summer's tour of Argentina.
Captain Gareth Thomas will not travel after suffering a mini-stroke during the RBS 6 Nations Championship, but Jenkins must decide whether to take British & Irish Lions tourists Martyn Williams, Stephen Jones, Dwayne Peel, Gethin Jenkins and Shane Williams on the two-Test tour.
Jenkins plans to name his first Wales squad on May 10.
''The selection process will be on-going over the coming week and we should be in a position to announce the squad by next Wednesday,'' said Jenkins after his first day in the job.
''There are a number of important regional games to watch in that short space of time with selection in mind and it is also important to get a comprehensive report on players who may be carrying injuries or who need the extra time in June for a full pre-season conditioning programme.''
Shane Williams believes Jenkins will stick by the open, attacking rugby that earned Wales such success in 2005 - and revealed the news was greeted with relief by the national squad.
''I think Gareth has gone on record as saying he won't change the team's outlook and I think that's a good thing, the players will be pleased,'' said Williams, who has just signed a new three-year deal with the Ospreys.
