Scotland coach Frank Hadden claims the Barbarians clash will strengthen the bond between players and supporters.
The RBS 6 Nations' third-placed side meet the world's best at Murrayfield on May 31 as they look to continue their improvement ahead of the summer tour of South Africa.
And Hadden is anticipating a good crowd will come along to watch the Calcutta Cup heroes in action.
He said: ''Our match against the Barbarians will be invaluable preparation for our trip to South Africa in June, where we play the Springboks in two Tests.
''We hope to build on last season's first ever victory against the Barbarians and we also want to build on what we feel is a very special relationship between our supporters and the Scotland team. That's important for us.
''From our internationals last autumn, the players commented on the backing they were getting from the home supporters and then during the RBS 6 Nations Championship the crowd was definitely the 16th man and the Murrayfield roar was back.''
