Week Five
16 March 2006, 11:33 am
I thought it was a pretty efficient performance against Scotland.
The game as a spectacle may not have been fantastic, but the conditions were absolutely appalling, it was a really, really difficult day, and we were comfortable in victory.

Scotland never looked like scoring, so I think everybody would have been happy.

It was an old-fashioned day for old-fashioned players and it was a perfect send-off for Lansdowne Road.

I was fairly confident about the Twickenham clash before England played in France and very confident afterwards, but now I'm slightly confused because there are so many changes to the England side.

I think for us, we're in a pretty good position if we play properly and can get our standard up a bit higher.

We have yet to really click and I think it's a great situation to be in for an Irishman having not really clicked but yet in with a chance to win the Triple Crown.

I think quite comfortably the back line will be a key area of the game. We've had difficulty this year processing the talent and if it clicks, I think we'll be the better side.

I think the championship might be a bit of a long shot because I think France will win, so we will have to simply focus on beating England, which I think from Ireland's perspective will be first and foremost.

However, the Triple Crown is very important and we will actually know what has to be done if we are to win the championship.

We could well be playing for the championship depending on what happened in the match before as we'll know the result.
