I'm really in two minds about Ireland's win on Sunday.
One part of me is delighted with the victory but the other part is a little frustrated by the performance.

I thought they started the game incredibly nervously, and Wales were looking very good until Stephen Jones went off. The second Jones went off things seemed to fall apart for the Welsh, as he seemed to be the one player capable of leading the side and giving them direction.

The pressure on Gavin Henson to perform was unbelievable. Its been a very stressful time for the Wales players and they looked very fragile on Sunday.

As for Ireland, theyre now in a strong position without having played particularly well in the competition to date.

Two wins out of three is a good basis to kick on from, and theyre now in with a decent shot at winning the competition.

One of the most pleasing aspects of Irelands season has been the number of new players they have unearthed.

Jerry Flannery has particularly impressed me at hooker. Hes been very solid, his throwing in has been good, and he gets around the pitch well. Hes had a fine start to his international career and definitely has something about him.

Scotlands win over England is great for the competition and great for Scottish rugby, and Ireland will have to be on top of their game to beat them.

Its good for Ireland to have Scotland at home and it will be interesting to see if the visitors are capable of producing a performance away from Murrayfield.

If Ireland do beat Scotland, theyll have a tilt at England for the Triple Crown and possibly the championship, but theyll certainly have to raise their performance levels if theyre to achieve that.
