Scotland international Dougie Hall is hoping to get a chance to impress Frank Hadden in competitive action on Friday night.
The 25-year-old was dropped for the RBS 6 Nations Championship defeat by Wales at the weekend after being viewed as the weak link in the team which beat France on the opening day.
However, at the Millennium Stadium, Halls replacement Scott Lawson also struggled to find his jumpers at the line-out with any consistency.
Now Hall has a further opportunity to impress when he starts on the bench for Edinburgh Gunners in the Celtic League clash with Ulster at Murrayfield.
But Edinburgh interim head coach Todd Blackadder is also grateful to his successor, Hadden, for allowing a number of Scotland internationals to return just over a week before the visit of England.
Blackadder said: We havent beaten Ulster for a while but weve had opportunities and come really close.
Wed like to right on the night, and for Scotland coach Frank Hadden to have released Simon Webster, Craig Smith and Dougie Hall from their international duties is great for us.
