Ireland suffer Horan blow

Ireland's preparations for Saturday's RBS 6 Nations Championship clash with France have been hit by the withdrawal of Marcus Horan through illness.

Leinster prop Reggie Corrigan has been drafted into the squad as cover for Horan who is suffering from a ''winter vomiting bug'' and is unable to travel to Paris.

Corrigan won the last of his 46 caps during the 2005 summer tour to Japan and was replaced by Munster front row Horan for the November internationals.

Ireland coach Eddie O'Sullivan must now decide whether to promote Simon Best from the bench or hand Corrigan the number one shirt for the Stade de France encounter.
