That really was a terrific Scottish performance, the like of which we haven't seen for a long, long time.
Its the first time Scotland have beaten anyone other than Italy in this competition since RBS started their sponsorship, and that is a real measure of how big the win was for the Scots.

Theres no doubt Scotland are playing with far more self-belief and confidence under this new regime.

Theyre playing a style of rugby that they look like they enjoy, and theyre looking for space rather than the contact and its great to watch.

Frank Hadden has put a lot of trust in the players and theres a spirit and self-belief in the team which is terrific to see.

Its the first time Scotland have strung together a full 80 minutes of rugby for a very long time. They showed glimpses of what they could do against New Zealand but the key was to produce that kind of performance for the entire game, which they did against France.

There were some big performances up front and guys like Scott Murray, Simon Taylor and Jason White really led from the front. The front row stuck at it and the pack a whole can be proud of their efforts.

The second try in particular was a fabulous effort and although it wasnt a classic wingers try by any means, it was a great effort to shove a France pack back that far.

There was a return of the Murrayfield roar as well and theres no doubt that was a big factor, but Scotland can now travel to Cardiff with real confidence.
