Carlo Cecchinato claims Italy can be pleased with their progress in the November Tests.
Former forward Cecchinato, recently promoted to the Azzurri team manager role, admits he was disappointed by the 39-22 defeat by Argentina in Genoa but claims victories against Fiji and Tonga have left a positive legacy.
Cecchinato, who set a world record total of tries for a forward during his playing career, said: On balance the three November Test matches have been positive.
Apart from the injured (prop) Andrea Lo Cicero we have sent 30 players back to the clubs in good physical and mental condition.
Our coach (Pierre Berbizier) and medical staff did a great job and we played three very hard matches especially against the Pumas (Argentina).
Two victories and a defeat are positive results for us, especially before the RBS 6 Nations.
