The Wasps scrum-half suffered a calf muscle strain in training on Thursday and his place on the bench will now be taken by Gloucester's Peter Richards.

Dawson, who made his Test debut against Samoa 10 years ago, was due to provide bench cover for Leicester's Harry Ellis after starting the opening autumn games against Australia and New Zealand.

Richards, who joined Gloucester from Wasps this summer, is the fourth uncapped player included among the substitutes for Saturday's game, joining Bath hooker Lee Mears, Perpignan prop Perry Freshwater and Leicester wing Tom Varndell.
