Leicester winger Tom Varndell has won his first England call-up as head coach Andy Robinson announced a revised 30-man squad for Saturday's clash with Samoa at Twickenham.
Robinson has decided against making radical changes for the final game of Englands Investec autumn series and has largely reverted back to his original squad.
The only changes are the inclusion of Varndell, who has scored six tries in seven Premiership games this season for the Tigers, and Gloucesters James Simpson-Daniel at the expense of Leicester pair Andy Goode and Ollie Smith.
It means that Wasps full-back Tom Voyce and Perpignan prop Perry Freshwater plus Gloucester trio Peter Richards, Andy Hazell and Jamie Forrester all come back into
contention after being overlooked for the Tests against Australia and New Zealand.
Wasps lock Simon Shaw returns to the squad after recovering from a back injury which had kept him out of the victory over Australia and last Saturdays narrow defeat to New Zealand.
Despite his squad emerging bloodied and bruised from that titanic clash with the All Blacks, Robinson believes continuity is vital to England's World Cup preparations and he has retained the full match-day 22.
But both Varndell, 20, and Simpson-Daniel, 23, now seem likely to be involved in some capacity on Saturday and would certainly inject some spark into the England back division.
Varndell, who only made his Leicester debut just over a year ago, has clocked 10.80 seconds for the 100 metres - on grass and in his socks.
Robinson dropped Simpson-Daniel from his original 30-man autumn squad but requested Gloucester play him at outside centre instead of on the wing.
Simpson-Daniel now seems a live contender for the 13 jersey and could provide the midfield creativity that England lacked over the last fortnight.
Forrester, Simpson-Daniel's Gloucester team-mate and a dynamic loose-forward, is included again and this time seems set to make the cut for the match-day 22.
Hooker Lee Mears, lock Louis Deacon and prop Matt Stevens could both be promoted from the bench, while behind the scrum Mark Van Gisbergen could win a first Test start for England.
