Byrne set for Saracens debut

Ireland hooker Shane Byrne is poised to make his Saracens debut in Saturday's friendly against Harlequins at Harpenden.

British & Irish Lion Byrne, who joined the Premiership club from Leinster earlier this summer, has been named among the replacements in Saracens final warm-up game before tackling champions Wasps at Twickenham on Saturday week.

Former Great Britain rugby league captain Andy Farrells union debut though, remains on hold.

Farrell has still not recovered from the toe injury that ruled him out of last weekends clash against Bedford.

It is not broken, but he wont be able to play until the soreness disappears, said Saracens rugby director Steve Diamond.
