Ryan Jones has rallied RBS 6 Nations champions Wales for their autumn showdown with the All Blacks by declaring: "I believe they are beatable."
Jones and Wales will have to go one better than Sir Clive Woodwards Lions, who were outclassed earlier this summer as the tourists suffered a 3-0 Test series whitewash against New Zealand.
The All Blacks are also strong Tri-Nations title favourites, and they begin their quest for southern hemisphere domination by tackling holders South Africa in Cape Town on Saturday.
Wales have not beaten New Zealand since 1953, but the November 5 Millennium Stadium clash promises fireworks.
A couple of scalps in the autumn would be a massive positive for Welsh rugby, and I firmly believe we can achieve them, said Jones, relishing a packed schedule that also features appointments with Australia, South Africa and Fiji.
Having played against New Zealand, I believe they are beatable. The Lions scored points against them, and scoring points is certainly one thing Wales can do.
It is exciting times for Wales, and it is also important we do well again in the Six Nations next year. If we can retain the Six Nations trophy, it is going to firmly put us on the map and its not second-season syndrome then.
We have to keep making positive strides ready for the World Cup in two years. Its all on for us, and it is important that we perform.
