Scotland are determined to have appointed a new coach in time for their autumn Test series.
Edinburgh Rugby coach Frank Hadden took temporary charge for the end-of-season friendlies against the Barbarians and Romania following the departure of Australian Matt Williams, steering the team to two much-needed victories.
The Scottish Rugby Unions new chairman Allan Munro insists the new-look Murrayfield hierarchy will name a new coach, as well as a new director of rugby to replace Ian McGeechan, in time for the testing three-match series with Argentina, Samoa and New Zealand in November.
He said: One of the tasks facing us is we currently have an interim director of rugby and an interim coach, in the shape of Frank Hadden.
''In the case of the director of rugby, we will be advertising that position in the near future and we will review applications as and when.
In the case of the national coach, we will be advertising in due course and we will be looking to make an appointment in due course, quite clearly with the autumn Tests in mind.
There will be an appointment before the autumn Tests.
