Ireland coach Eddie O'Sullivan acclaimed the "complete performance" from All Blacks fly-half Dan Carter after his Wellington masterclass.
Carter amassed 33 points - two tries, five penalties and four conversions - to set a New Zealand individual record against the British & Irish Lions during the 48-18 second Test victory.
OSullivan, part of Sir Clive Woodwards Lions coaching staff, agreed it had been a monumental effort from the 23-year-old Canterbury star.
Carter had a superb game, said OSullivan.
He got really good service, but his decision-making was excellent.
It was a complete performance by probably the top number 10 in the world at the moment. He has got all the pieces together, and is like a well-oiled machine.
Lions skipper Gareth Thomas, meanwhile, insisted that his team could be proud of their performance against a rampant All Blacks outfit, despite losing the Test series with one game still remaining.
There is so much history involved with the Lions, so much history behind the badge, and we can take a lot from this - we can be proud of our performance, he said.
Its all about getting together now, knuckling down and getting things together for next weekend. The All Blacks probably played a perfect game, but I suppose its because they are capable of doing it and capable of repeating it.
Its up to us now to go away, analyse the game and come back with something special in Auckland next weekend.
We have taken a lot of criticism and a lot of stick, and I am just proud of what the guys did. The scoreboard really is irrelevant to me.
