Cullen, who has played 15 Tests for Ireland, brings with him a wealth of experience - as a lock and, more importantly, in the leadership department.

The 27-year-old, who made his Test debut against the All Blacks in 2002, has captained Leinster on numerous occasions, having made 81 appearances for the Irish Province since his debut against Edinburgh in 1998.

He last played for Ireland at the end of 2004, but found himself on the fringes of the Ireland squad during the 2005 RBS 6 Nations.
