France and Toulouse captain Fabien Pelous is recovering well from his knee injury and could be fit in time to face Stade Francais in the European Cup final later this month.
The 31-year-old badly sprained his knee during Toulouses 22-6 league defeat to Bourgoin on April 9 and was expected to be sidelined for at least six weeks, putting into doubt his participation in the final on May 22.
But just over a month since sustaining the problem, the lock looks to be well on the road to full fitness and, having resumed training on Monday, could be back in action as soon as this weekend when Toulouse take on Castres.
However, Pelous admits he will take no risks with the injury.
''I will play if I feel fine,'' explained the vastly experienced forward, who has won 101 caps for his country.
