Scotland interim coach Frank Hadden would like to stake a claim for the job on a permanent basis.
The Edinburgh supremo was given the job of heading up the caretaker coaching team following the sacking of Australian Matt Williams earlier this week.
Hadden will be in charge for the end-of-term clashes against the star-packed Barbarians at Pittodrie and Romania in Bucharest.
And he will be assisted by a host of pro-team coaches including Glasgows Hugh Campbell and Sean Lineen, Steve Bates and George Graham from Borders, along with Alan Tait, who returns as the specialist defence coach.
He declared: I am extremely proud to be asked to fill the role because at heart I am an out-and-out Scotland supporter.
I have made the trips over the years to places like Dublin, Paris, Cardiff and Twickenham to yell my lungs out for the team and no-one in the world wants Scotland to win more than I do.
The job will be entirely different from the one I have been doing with Edinburgh and I am hugely looking forward to the challenge.
Obviously all the coaches are on trial, but we regard it as a massive opportunity to stake a claim for the future.
My clear picture is that the game plan should fit the players, that they should buy into that game plan, be excited by it and give 110 per cent for the blue jersey.
Above all else, they must want to win for Scotland.
