England internationals Martin Corry and Mark Cueto are up against France back-row forward Sebastien Chabal after the trio were nominated for a prestigious end-of-season award.
The PRA players player of the year award, to be presented in London next month, will go to either Corry, Cueto, Chabal, Leicester fly-half Andy Goode or Worcester skipper Pat Sanderson.
The Professional Rugby Players Association young player category, meanwhile, sees five of English rugbys brightest prospects contesting top honours.
Leeds centre Chris Bell, Newcastles Mathew Tait, Leicester back Ollie Smith and his Tigers team-mate Harry Ellis, plus Bath prop Matt Stevens are the nominees.
The winners will be announced at Londons Grosvenor House Hotel on May 11.
