Thats the beauty of the game, when you have three teams heading into the final weekend with a chance of winning the competition - theres that element of doubt right until the end - and with what style the Welsh resolved those doubts.

Wales have entertained us royally throughout the tournament and fully deserved to achieve the Grand Slam.

Mike Ruddocks team produced some breathtaking rugby. Regardless of the circumstances, opposition, occasion or pressure, Wales played the same way.

When expectations were high, we consistently played our own brand of rugby. That is what Wales offer, something different to most other teams.

Beating Ireland in Cardiff for the first time since 1983 was a fantastic way to round things off.

Weve had our setbacks with injury, and lost Gareth Cooper and Hal Luscombe late on for the Ireland clash.

But that just underlines the spirit within the camp and the quality of the rest of the squad.
Ireland began very physically but Wales relied on their talent and ball-playing ability.

We werent underestimating the threat of the Irish. I picked them out as favourites at the start of the tournament and we know what they are capable of.

They made a fast start but we rode that storm, and Gethin Jenkins excellent charge-down try really catapulted the Welsh forwards and provided the all-important momentum.

Hes had a superb season - and played himself into contention for the British & Irish Lions tour of New Zealand this summer.

Dwayne Peel is another who has had an outstanding campaign.

Stephen Jones has done his chances no harm, particularly with doubts over Jonny Wilkinsons fitness, while Brent Cockbain, Martyn Williams, Tom Shanklin, Gavin Henson and Gareth Thomas are just some of the other potential tourists.

Ive been really impressed with Ruddocks man-management skills and the way he deflects pressure from the players.

Steve Hansen instilled a professional attitude and a hunger in the side, and Ruddock has built on that, as well as working on the set-piece.

That has allowed the players space and freedom to do what they want to do. The high-tempo game is what comes naturally, so the Welsh players are very comfortable with an open field.

I thoroughly enjoyed the RBS 6 Nations campaign.

The second half in Paris lit up the tournament for me. It was nothing short of wonderful. The last-gasp opening victory over England was also key as that gave us the belief and the confidence.

England have set the benchmark over the last few years, winning the World Cup and playing a high standard of rugby. It was up to other teams to play catch-up and match that competitive streak.

The Wales players managed to cope with the expectation and when that increased, they rose to the occasion.

In recent seasons the tournament has been a contest between England and France - but theres no longer only one ticket in town.

It's been a long, hard road but it's great to finally see Wales back at the top!
