Hines favours gung-ho approach
18 March 2005, 9:34 am
Scotland lock Nathan Hines insists Scotland must marry fire to formula if they are to overcome England in their last RBS 6 Nations Championship match at Twickenham on Saturday.
Hines came on in the second half of Scotland's traumatic 46-22 thrashing by Wales at Murrayfield last week and impressed enough during the Scots' late fight back to be one of four changes Matt Williams has made to his side for the trip to London.

While recognising the need to carry out his coach's instructions, the Edinburgh Rugby player is adamant that more of a gung-ho approach from the visitors can bear fruit against the English.

He said: The second half opened our eyes a little bit because in games before that we were standing back a little bit.

But we took the ball to Wales and I think the guys will enjoy playing that way again so we will try and replicate it.

We've had problems implementing the game plans but you can draw up as many plans as you like but if you don't put your body on the line then it's not going to work.

We've played that style before against South Africa and I think it's about getting a blend between a disciplined game plan and the sort of rugby we played in the second half last week.
