Scotland international Jason White is set to hand coach Matt Williams a timely RBS 6 Nations boost with a return to training on Wednesday.
The Sale Sharks flanker has been forced to miss the last two matches against Italy and Wales with a knee injury.
But the 26-year-old is now ready to step up his training schedule in a bid to be ready for the Calcutta Cup clash with England at Twickenham on Saturday.
Scotland team doctor James Robson said: ''Our aim is to have Jason involved in Scotland training (on Wednesday).''
But scrum-half Chris Cusiter is still receiving treatment for the Achilles injury which forced him out of the defeat by Wales on Sunday.
