It was important to get a win under our belts following three successive defeats.
I think the players and fans would have settled for a one-point victory against Italy if it had come to that - just as long as England won.
It was not a great game but you could see how much it meant to the players at the end. Thats the first building block in place as they look to progress.
I thought Iain Balshaw had a great game - he was definitely my man of the match.
He injected the backline with pace and flair and was involved in everything. His running off the ball was also impressive and he created space for others. He looks to be back to his best after a few injury problems, and its great to see.
Martin Corry also had a good game and hes been my England player of the tournament.
I had no doubts that he would be a good captain because he leads by example. He is willing to throw himself at anything and is a world-class player.
Its rare to see him have a bad game and he always comes off the field bruised and battered, having given his all.
England face Scotland in their last RBS 6 Nations game and I think they will still be really focused because of the criticism they have received.
Its never an easy game against the Scots because they are a proud nation, but I cant see England losing.
