Benoit Baby is feeling at home in the French squad after receiving his first call-up as cover for Damien Traille.
Biarritz ace Traille has been ruled out of Les Bleus' visit to Ireland on Saturday with a right ankle injury, prompting coach Bernard Laporte to turn to uncapped Toulouse back Baby.
''With the France Under-19 team, I played with (Frederic) Michalak, (Yannick) Nyanga, (Gregory) Lamboley and (Jean-Phillippe) Grandclaude,'' said Baby. ''I know them well.
''Doing my job is the most important thing for me. Bernard Laporte called me on Sunday and told me to join the France team at Marcoussis.''
The 21-year-old knows France will have their work cut out against Eddie O'Sullivan's Grand-Slam chasers and highlighted the Irish centre pairing as a particular strength.
''(Brian) O'Driscoll and (Gordon) D'Arcy are the best in the world,'' he added.
