Not since the final glory days of JPR Williams, Gerald Davies et al in 1978 have Wales achieved the feat, but they are now in a prime position to do so for the first time since then, with a trip to Scotland and then Ireland at home to come.

But Williams says the players cannot afford to think in the same way the fans do.

We know what it is going to be like back home, everyone will just take Scotland for granted but there is no way we will do that as a squad, he said.

It is genuinely just Scotland on our minds. They love to spoil the party. They have done it to many teams before.

We have to prepare for that in the same way as England, Italy and France.
