France coach Bernard Laporte has called up uncapped Toulouse back Benoit Baby for the first time for next weekend's RBS 6 Nations fixture with Ireland in Dublin.
The 21-year-old Baby got the call as a replacement for Damien Traille who has been forced to withdraw from the squad with an ankle injury.
Further tests by the French medical staff revealed that the Biarritz centre would not be fit for next Saturdays match at Lansdowne Road.
Traille had originally been due to take part in Saturdays tsunami benefit match at Twickenham but was forced to withdraw when his right ankle flared up again.
Medical staff believe that his injury is in part due to too much training on an artificial pitch.
