I am really disappointed with our performance in Edinburgh because first of all it was a poor game - maybe the worst we have ever played in the RBS 6 Nations.
The level was poor on both sides - it was really bad and there were lots of mistakes made.
I was not expecting it to be enjoyable because I knew it would be close but I did not expect it to be that bad.
I think Italy did not do enough to win - in the first half we had lots of possession but scored only three points.
We missed lots of penalties and gave lots away and thats one of the reasons we lost.
In the second half we completely deserved to lose and our spirit went down but thats no excuse for such a defeat.
Italy must stop and realise where we are now and then think where we want to go - we are not dangerous when we play like this.
We should use our strengths which at the moment is our forwards.
We have to try and find the best way to use the players we have - losing is always sad but if we have to lose then we must find a better way to lose than this.
There is no such thing as a sweet defeat but I was expecting better than this.
The only thing in our favour now is that England are under huge pressure as well and I suppose you could say we never expected to play them for the wooden spoon!
They have lost three in a row which must be the first time in 20 years they have done that but it will still be very tough.
We need to get our confidence back - especially after the way we played against Scotland.
We have to keep the dream but if we play against England as we did against Scotland there is no chance at all but if we play to our strengths I dont say we can win but we can worry them and then you never know what will happen.
