Italy captain Marco Bortolami has warned Scotland to expect a major test as Italy target their first RBS Six Nations win away from home on Saturday.
Bortolami knows it will be tough for the Azzurri as Matt Williams outfit are desperate to kick-start their campaign following a disastrous start.
A narrow opening defeat against France was followed by a humiliating 40-13 loss against Ireland, making the clash with Italy a must-win game for the Scots.
However, the Azzurri are eager to change history and clinch their first win on the road since their debut in the competition in 2000 as they aim to avoid a third consecutive defeat.
They have already been beaten by Ireland and Wales at home.
''It's a very important game for both us and for Scotland, probably the most important of the season,'' Bortolami told the federation's official website, www.federugby.it.
''There's going to be a lot of pressure on both sides but we will travel to Edinburgh prepared to give our all.''
Italy coach John Kirwan is set to name his squad for the game at Murrayfield on Tuesday.
