Clubs prove no solace for Scotland stars
21 February 2005, 12:29 pm
Scotland's luckless RBS 6 Nations stars endured further misery at the weekend as Celtic League action resumed.
With the wounds of last weekend's 40-13 loss against Ireland still yet to heal, it was the Irish who again inflicted the damage as squad men Graeme Morrison and John Barclay's Glasgow were on the wrong end of a 25-19 scoreline at title-chasing Munster.

Centre Morrison played a full 80 minutes, while flanker Barclay's late introduction could not prevent Glasgow slipping to their ninth defeat of the season.

It was even worse for bottom club Borders, who fell 34-10 to an understrength Neath Swansea Ospreys, with Bruce Douglas and Mike Blair - both of whom came off the bench in last weekend's defeat to Ireland - both featuring from the start against the Celtic League leaders.

Scotland squad men Ross Ford and Stuart Moffat also played, but none of Scotland's internationals were able to stop the Ospreys from establishing an eight-point lead at the top of the table.

The only bright spot of the weekend was Edinburgh's 41-33 victory over Leinster in which Scotland talisman Simon Talyor made a scoring return from injury.
