Italian rugby supremo Giancarlo Dondi is glad that back row forward Sergio Parisse has been cleared of any wrong-doing following an incident involving Wales fly-half Stephen Jones.
Dondi, the president of the Italian Rugby Federation (FIR), believes that the right decision was made by the inquiry panel, who have given Parisse the all-clear to face Scotland at Murrayfield on Saturday.
Dondi said: To be honest I didn't see anything wrong during that match from Sergio (Parisse) and after I watched the video replay, I was more sure than ever our player was innocent and I was happy for him when we had the positive result from London.
He is more concerned about the absence of Mauro Bergamasco through injury - the Stade Francais flanker is considered the gioiellino (jewel) of the Italy squad.
Mauro Bergamascos injury could be a major blow for us but it always sad to see any Italian players miss out for a long time, said Dondi.
But I also believe (coach) John (Kirwan) and his staff are already planning around the injury and will find the best solution for the team for the next few matches.
