We were trailing 20-6 at half time but fought back in the second half and went on to win the match 23-20, except this time we didn't produce as good a performance.

I must say that I was surprised and disappointed by the England team. It seems they have not yet recovered from their 2003 World Cup win and have suffered a lot from their lack of leaders such as Jonny Wilkinson, Martin Johnson and Lawrence Dallaglio.

They have many doubts at the moment even though they want to be back to their best as soon as possible. But psychologically they are lacking.

However, France were quite lucky because England scored two tries but missed five penalties which is a sign they lack confidence, but it was definitely Dimitri Yachvili's day. His kicking abilities forced France forward.

France have been trying new players after the defeat to New Zealand, and Sunday's type of victory, even though we were not at our best, is going to do us a lot of good.

Yachvili was good but so was William Servat, and also Serge Betsen who put on a great performance and behaved as a leader despite the last 10 tense days he's had.

So there was a little bit of luck in this victory but on the other hand when you win at Twickenham it is never by pure chance.

I want to praise the composure and courage the French showed in the last 10 minutes. They did not make any mistakes, kept their concentration in defence, and never gave up hope.

I think France will be able to capitalise greatly on their first two wins. They made things happen on Sunday. They might have not been solid enough on some basics of the game but their combativeness and motivation will help them go far in the competition.

I was extremely disappointed after the Scotland match but I now know there is light at the end of the tunnel and the next two matches against Wales and Ireland will be decisive.
