Man-of-the-match Dimitri Yachvili could not disguise his delight at France's second-half fightback which saw the defending Grand Slam champions overturn a 17-6 half-time deficit and keep their winning RBS 6 Nations start going with an 18-17 Twickenham triumph.
Yachvili kicked all of France's points, a display that was in sharp contrast to his England counterparts Charlie Hodgson and Olly Barkley, both of whom had a nightmare with the boot.
We didnt play well last weekend against Scotland and won,'' Yachvili told BBC1 after the game.
''Today we didnt play well but we won again and were very proud to beat English here at Twickenham.''
Yachvili admitted France had been very poor in the first half but had raised their game after the break.
It was very poor. We just defended during the first half. We said at half-time that we had to play more to put them under pressure and it went well.
