Aaron Persico believes that this season's RBS 6 Nations Championship will be something of a 'coming of age' for John Kirwan's team.
The Italy flanker, who has played in all three of Italys Six Nations wins to date, believes that his team need to target the Scotland game as an opportunity for their first win away from home in the tournament.
''We have a good start to the tournament with two games at home against Ireland and Wales,'' the flanker told BBC Sport.
''We have to put them under pressure and take confidence from those matches into the rest of the Six Nations and play consistently well in the five games.
''It's important to get results and we are really looking at getting our first away win when we travel to Scotland.''
The game at Murrayfield is in the third round of matches on 26 February.
