Scotland coach Matt Williams is convinced his players will make the country proud when they take on France in Paris.
Scotlands sporting fans have had little to cheer lately with the national football team struggling and WBO featherweight champion Scott Harrison also being lucky to keep his title.
But Williams remains optimistic of his sides chances in the opening RBS 6 Nations fixture and is confident they will help mend some dented Scottish pride.
It is important we come off the field on Saturday knowing we have made Scotland proud of this team, Williams said.
Going to France is extremely difficult but it is a wonderful place to go to and were all looking forward to the trip.
Scotlands chances in the RBS 6 Nations tournament have been written off by many, but Williams believes his players will use the criticism as inspiration.
It is very important for us to go there knowing that the world has written us off. That is very important to us, Williams said.
It is also important that we go there knowing that the Scottish nation needs some pride in the jersey and in rugby.
