Ireland coach Eddie O'Sullivan was ensured a clean bill of health from his Leinster contingent for the start of the RBS 6 Nations after the province's landslide 55-3 victory over the Newport-Gwent Dragons at Lansdowne Road.
Ireland captain Brian O'Driscoll was rested but it made no difference as the Dragons - missing eight players to the Wales squad - were thoroughly outclassed, with Shane Horgan and Denis Hickie in scintillating form ahead of Sunday's trip to Italy, scoring two tries apiece.
Malcolm O'Kelly, who is expected to become Ireland's most capped player during the championship, also lined up as did last year's player of the tournament, O'Driscoll's centre partner Gordon D'Arcy.
