Iestyn Thomas looking to prove fitness

Wales coach Mike Ruddock is waiting on the fitness of Iestyn Thomas before finalising his RBS 6 Nations squad.

The 29-year-old Llanelli Scarlets prop is expected to make a return to action from a neck injury against Munster this weekend.

If Thomas successfully completes the game against the Irish province then Ruddock is expected to name him as the fourth prop in the Wales squad to face England at the Millennium Stadium.

''I'm hoping he will prove his fitness for the Scarlets on Saturday,'' Ruddock said.

''That might be a bonus and provide us with an extra option ahead of England.''
