Ireland fly-half Ronan O'Gara is available for the RBS 6 Nations opener against Italy on February 6 after being named in the 25-strong squad for the match.
OGara - the star of the autumn Test victories against South Africa and Argentina - has recovered from a hand injury he suffered three weeks ago and will be given the nod ahead of Ulster veteran David Humphreys.
The Munster fly-half will play in Saturdays Celtic League clash with Llanelli and should he avoid any setbacks at Stradey Park, Ireland coach Eddie OSullivan will ask him to continue at number 10.
OSullivan said: Ronan has grown into the position over the last couple of years. Im sure Im the envy of all national coaches with two world-class fly-halves at my disposal - its great to have Ronan and David available.
OSullivan names his final 22-man squad for the clash against Italy next Wednesday.
