Former Wales captain Colin Charvis will need a scan to determine whether he will be fit for the start of the RBS 6 Nations.
Charvis picked up an ankle injury during his club Newcastle Falcons 25-17 European Cup win over Newport Gwent Dragons and is set to see a specialist to determine the extent of the injury.
The flanker was clearly in some pain after the match at Kingston Park, adding to Falcons chief Rob Andrews already troublesome injury list, which includes England captain Jonny Wilkinson.
The Newcastle director of rugby revealed the 31-year-old openside is to see a specialist to evaluate the problem.
We dont know what the prognosis is with Colin yet, Andrew told scrum.com.
It seems to be his ankle or his foot. He just went over on it and hes not quite sure what the position is really.
He seemed to be in a bit of pain and didnt feel as if he could go on.
Wales RBS 6 Nations campaign kicks-off at the Millennium Stadium on February 5 when they take on world champions England.
