Pozzebon in for Azzurri
12 November 2004, 12:14 pm
Italy coach John Kirwan has made just one change to the side that thrashed Canada for the Test match against his former side New Zealand at Rome's Stadio Flaminio.
Walter Pozzebon replaces experienced winger Dennis Dallan, who is ruled out after picking up an injury in the last few minutes of the 51-6 win against the Canadians.

Centre Matteo Pratichetti has been called up to take Pozzebon's place on the substitutes bench.

Two slight injury doubts for the Azzurri are Andrea Masi and Gonzalo Canale, with Matteo Barbini and Matteo Pratichetti standing by to deputise.

New Zealand coach Graham Henry has included two uncapped players.

In what will be the All Blacks' first Test in the Italian capital, Henry has handed debuts to loosehead prop Saimone Taumoepeau and centre Conrad Smith.

There are also a couple of new faces on the New Zealand bench with Steven Bates and Jimmy Cowan named amongst the replacements.

Italy: Kaine Robertson; Ludovico Nitoglia, Gonzalo Canale, Andrea Masi, Walter Pozzebon; Rima Wakarua, Paul Griffen; Andrea Lo Cicero, Fabio Ongaro, Salvatore Perugini, Santiago Dellape, Marco Bortolami, Aaron Persico, Mauro Bergamasco, David Dal Maso.
Replacements: Giorgio Intoppa, Salvatore Costanzo, Enrico Pavanello, Silvio Orlando, Pietro Travagli, Luciano Orquera, Matteo Pratichetti.

New Zealand: Mils Muliaina; Rico Gear, Conrad Smith, Tana Umaga, Joe Rokocoko; Daniel Carter, Byron Kelleher; Saimone Taumoepeau, Anton Oliver, Carl Hayman, Chris Jack, Norm Maxwell, Jerry Collins, Richie McCaw, Mose Tuiali'i.
