Scotland have been hit by injury and illness ahead of their opening autumn Test against Australia at Murrayfield this weekend.
Craig Hamilton and Robbie Kydd have both been suffering from a flu-like gastric bug and have left the camp for fear of the illness spreading throughout the squad.
Their progress will be monitored by Scotland medical staff.
Borders star Simon Danielli underwent keyhole surgery on his right knee on Monday night after seeking a specialist opinion from an orthopaedic surgeon.
He will rejoin the squad on Tuesday morning to start his rehabilitation, which is expected to last for two to three weeks.
Northampton's Tom Smith injured his right knee during the European Cup win against Llanelli at the weekend.
He will return to Northampton to seek a specialist opinion and the national team's medics are awaiting the outcome of that consultation.
