Italian rugby will honour All Black legend Jonah Lomu at a special ceremony in Rome on November 10.
Lomu, whose outstanding career has been derailed by chronic kidney problems, will be handed an award for outstanding achievement by Giancarlo Dondi, president of the Italian Rugby Federation (FIR).
Lomu, 29, has scored 37 tries in 63 matches for the All Blacks and he will be guest of honour on November 13 at the match at Romes Stadio Flaminio between the Azzurri and New Zealand.
The ceremony will also be attended by Italy coach John Kirwan who is a former room-mate of Lomu and who is himself a New Zealand legend.
Sir Clive Woodward, until recently the coach of world champions England, will also attend the ceremony and will be observing the methods used by Kirwan and the rest of the Italian coaching team.
