Jauzion takes top French honour

Yannick Jauzion was voted International Player of the Year for the 2003-2004 season at an inaugural awards ceremony organised by the French league (LNR) and the players' national union.

The Toulouse centre, part of the France squad that reached the semi-finals of last years World Cup, came first ahead of Biarritz's Serge Betsen and his Toulouse team-mate Fabien Pelous, who is also the France captain.

Perpignan fly-half Manuel Edmonds was voted best overall player for the last year at Monday nights ceremony in Paris, seeing off the challenge of Stade Francais star Diego Dominguez and Jauzion.
